For my icon, I chose Frida Kahlo. She has been such a consistent icon in the art world for so long and her face is so recognizable I believe she's a perfect fit for me and this project.
Maddie, First, I love Frida Kahlo! I really like the image you have chosen. I think you have a lot of options here! There is a lot you could manipulate with color and texture, as well as her setting!
Hi Maddie! This is such a beautiful and colorful image, I'm interested to see what sort of changes you can make with color alone. Frida Kahlo paints herself so much it seems we associate her physical appearance (and iconic brow) with her art.
Very iconic picture of Frida! I think you have a lot of different patterns and images you can mesh with her, I'm excited to see what you do! -Catherine Pickle
I chose to do a self portrait for my final project and really take advantage of the different blending modes to bring out different colors in my work. My art lately has been more abstract so I would love to show that in my self portrait as well and share my style.
Maddie,
