Attempt 1
Being brand new to Illustrator has been a little tough for me but so far, I'd like to think I'm getting the hang of things. I also had trouble uploading my work so far so this is actually a screenshot of my work... I'm thinking of using the lamp as a sun and creating a solar system around it or turning it into a sunrise or sunset.
For my icon, I chose Frida Kahlo. She has been such a consistent icon in the art world for so long and her face is so recognizable I believe she's a perfect fit for me and this project.
I love the colors and staggered colorful silhouette effect, however, i feel like you have room to add more blending modes, patterns and images to “destroy” the original image, making it look less like the iconic image
ReplyDeleteMaddie, I love each of your iterations! The way you have experimented with color is very playful, while still keeping Frida's attitude in the forefront! I'm so impressed by the fact that you have two different tones of red working together. The deep red and bright red combo immediately caught my eye. I really love the use of color in general and appreciate how artists make their color palettes flow. Your use of contrast with the reds and greens is lovely. Great job!!
